Introducing Dr Desmond Chee!

Dr Des is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with a special interest in luminal bowel disorders.  He graduated from his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at University of Melbourne with first class honours and went on to an advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease fellowship in the UK before joining GSC in 2023.

Des is interested in all areas of gastroenterology and endoscopy, with a particular interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), as well as iron-deficiency anaemia, liver disorders and bowel cancer screening.

He consults and performs procedures in the Knox, Ringwood, Healesville and Vermont South region and hold a public appointment at Monash and Eastern Health, allowing him to provide care to all patients needing gastroenterological consultation and intervention.

Des has a strong commitment to research, has been widely published in medical journals, and presents at national and international conferences.

He prioritises seeing all patients within a short time frame for initial consultation, with procedures generally being booked within 2-3 weeks following consultation (if required). 

Open access endoscopy is available for suitable patients.  Telehealth consultations are available.
