Direct Endoscopy Guidelines

For patient referrals which are triaged as medically suitable for direct access endoscopy, patients can be booked directly for their procedure, with just a telehealth appointment with their Gastroenterologist prior to go over consent.

For referring doctors who believe this may be an option for their patients, please email or fax the referral to us with a note to that effect. All referrals are triaged by a Gastroenterologist, who will confirm direct endoscopy is appropriate and we will make arrangements for the patient to be booked for their procedure.

If referring doctors feel their patient requires urgent treatment, or would like to speak with a Gastroenterologist for advice please call the rooms on 03 7023 0230 and we will arrange for a doctor to speak to you directly or pass on their mobile number for direct contact.
