Dr Anke Nguyen is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist
Dr Anke Nguyen is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist who subspecialises in bowel disorders. She combines private practice with public appointments at Eastern Health and Austin Health. Anke completed an Honours degree in Medical Science from the University of Sydney before graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine from Deakin University in 2012. She completed her gastroenterology specialist training in 2020 at major metropolitan centres including the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Health. Anke then undertook a further 1.5-year subspecialty training and research fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. She has completed her PhD in inflammatory bowel disease at Monash University.
Anke is skilled in performing intestinal ultrasound, a non-invasive method of diagnosing inflammation in the bowel, following training at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin and at Alfred Health.
Anke has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease and performing endoscopy. She also has extensive experience in managing other gastrointestinal disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease, iron deficiency and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and liver diseases.
Outside of work, Anke enjoys spending time with her young family, going for walks, baking and reading.
