Scott Aitken – Nurse Practitioner

Scott is a Nurse Practitioner who has completed advanced specialist training as well as primary health.

Scott performs Fibroscans at GSC as well as a consulting service for our patients relating to his special interest in liver health.  Scott has advanced specialist training in addictive medicine and has completed the Hepatitis B prescriber course. 

Scott is able to treat a variety of health conditions, commence referrals to specialists / other health professionals, order and interpret tests and prescribe pharmacotherapy.

Scott has worked as a nurse in medical and surgical inpatient facilities, as well as community nursing in palliative care, district nursing and drug and alcohol.

Scott has lived with his family on Phillip Island for over 12 years and enjoys cycling, running, swimming and hiking.

Kelly de Jong – Practice Nurse

Kelly has been with GSC since 2022. She is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience working in public and private hospitals, and specifically in Endoscopy units where she has refined her understanding of Gastroenterology patient care.

Kelly loves working in the GSC team, and her fun and positive manner is appreciated by all of her patients. Kelly is also an experienced Fibroscan nurse. Kelly is continuing to expand her nursing skills through various ongoing training programs.

At home, Kelly spends time with her fiancé and their beautiful blended family of four children and dog Lulu. Kelly loves socialising with friends and family.

Esther Mills – Practice Nurse

Esther joined GSC in June 2024. With over 5 years of experience in a private hospital's Endoscopy unit, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice. Her extensive background includes roles in endoscopy, surgical wards, aged care, and administration, reflecting her passion for various aspects of nursing.

Working alongside fellow practice nurses Kelly and Kate, Esther ensures our GSC patients receive exceptional care through pre- and post-operative calls and support.

Esther’s warm and professional approach to patient care makes her patients feel as comfortable as possible. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach or park with her wife and two young children, and walking her beloved whippets, Devo & Pickles.

Kate Lawrence – Practice Nurse

Kate brings over 13 years of healthcare experience to our team, including 8 years of dedicated nursing. She has a love for endoscopy and currently works alongside the independent GSC doctors at St John of God Hospital as an endoscopy nurse. Kate is committed to providing quality healthcare and ensuring that patients always feel seen and heard.

Kate is currently on maternity leave, and will be back at GSC in 2025. She is married with three beautiful children. She is also the proud owner of a golden retriever and a snuggly ragdoll cat. Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and indulging in retail therapy!
