Dr Chris Li is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist
Dr. Chris Li is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with a special interest in the management of bowel disorders. He performs endoscopic procedures (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) at Adeney Private Hospital and works as a consultant specialist at Austin Health, Eastern Health, and Western Health.
Chris graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (First Class Honours) and undertook his basic physician training at Monash Health. He completed his specialist training at Western Health and Austin Health, before undertaking a combined clinical and research fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Austin Health.
Chris is actively involved in research and is currently completing a PhD at the University of Melbourne, supported by a prestigious NHMRC scholarship. His research aims to identify novel biomarkers to help treat patients with inflammatory bowel disease. He has presented his work at national and international conferences and has published in high-impact journals.
Chris is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), European Crohn’s & Colitis Organisation (ECCO) and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).
